In this charmingly imagined sequel to Pride and Prejudice, the ever-dependable Mary Bennet is growing tired of her role as dutiful middle sister in the face of her siblings’ romantic escapades. IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE: LIVE IN CHICAGO

For 15 years, the American Blues Ensemble has treated Chicago audiences to a live 1940s radio broadcast. The incredible cast recreates the entire town of Bedford Falls with Foley sound effects, an original score, and holiday carols. Critics call this “perfect Christmas theater” and “first-class holiday fare”. After each performance, milk and cookies are served by the cast.

We all know the truth about the holidays: Once the kids are in bed, you crack open a bottle of scotch, put together a bike, and hide it under a tree. This year, let The Second City throw ice water all over the warm fuzzy holiday B.S. with hilarious sketches about your favorite holiday traditions. Second City’s Holidazed and Confused doesn’t pull any punches, so your overbearing in-laws better watch out.

CHRISTMAS BINGO: IT’S A HO-HO-HOLY NIGHT

Nuns4Fun at the Royal George Theatre

In this interactive comedy, audience members play bingo while also answering questions about Christmas traditions, the origin of St. Nick, where do candy canes come from, miracles in the Bible… and a clever re-creation of the Annunciation, complete with audience members in angel wings and halos.
